General Questions

The minimum age to enroll in any program at American International Technical University is 18 years old. Applicants must provide valid government-issued identification confirming their age at the time of application.

Yes, AITU accepts a GED (General Educational Development) certificate as equivalent to a high school diploma for admission purposes. We believe educational pathways should be flexible, and we welcome all students who have demonstrated commitment to education.

99% of AITU's programs are delivered entirely online through our Canvas LMS platform. You can study from anywhere in the world. Certain specialized certification programs may have optional or required clinical/practicum components arranged at partner facilities near your location.

No qualified student is ever turned away from AITU due to financial circumstances. Our Sponsorship Program provides partial or full tuition assistance to eligible students through partnerships with AITU donors, foundations, and institutional funds. Yes. AITU holds accreditation from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACSCOC), both recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. These regional accreditations ensure international recognition of your degree.

Canvas is a leading Learning Management System used by thousands of universities worldwide. Once enrolled, you'll receive login credentials for your personal Canvas account where you can access video lectures, reading assignments, quizzes, discussion forums, and communicate with professors — all accessible 24/7 from any device.

After submitting your completed application and required documents, our admissions team reviews your file within 3–5 business days. You will receive an email notification with a decision. Once accepted, you can complete enrollment and begin classes within the next available start date.

AITU evaluates transfer credits from other accredited institutions on a case-by-case basis. Submit your official transcripts from previous institutions during the application process. Our registrar will perform a credit evaluation and notify you of transferable credits before enrollment.

Doctoral programs are currently in development at AITU, including a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) and Doctor of Education (Ed.D.). Sign up for our Coming Soon notification list on the Programs page to be among the first admitted when doctoral programs launch.

Current and former students can request official transcripts through the Student Services portal. There is a processing fee per transcript request. Official transcripts are typically processed within 5–7 business days and can be sent electronically or by certified mail.
